FounderAs our wonderful Founder, Ben oversees and actively leads the business and its highly successful development across all areas, both domestically and internationally. Confidently taking on an empty boatyard at the tender age of only 19 was just the beginning of Blue Lagoon Marine, and since September 2017 the company has continued to grow exponentially. With a fantastic like-minded team, Blue Lagoon Marine constantly strives for success and always looks for new and exciting opportunities within the industry. You are most likely to find Ben at his laptop or on the phone.

Richard Dodd
Head of EngineeringRichard and our Founder Ben teamed up during the COVID-19 period and very quickly recognised the obvious need to dramatically expand. Richard is an integral senior part of our core team, overseeing and managing all engineering and services for our customers. With many years’ experience in the marine industry, and a boat owner himself, Richard has an invaluable knowledge of all things boats. Richard is also responsible for leading our logistics, skippering, and all surveys. In his spare time, Richard enjoys good food, learning new languages, and getting out on his motorbikes (weather permitting).

Chris Farran
Yacht BrokerChris oversees the majority of our brokerage sales and deals. Chris is young, enthusiastic, and always extremely well presented! With a keen passion for boating, in particular sailing, Chris was desperate to get back into the industry after spending 6 months previously as a Yacht Broker followed by gaining some valuable sales skills whilst working as an Estate Agent. Chris is hard working and has a clear dedication to providing the best service possible with all Yacht Brokerage requirements. You may well spot Chris driving around the coast in his beautiful red Mercedes!

Sara Bevis-Neal
Head of OfficeSara manages our busy headquarters, and it will be her smiley face you see upon entering the Blue Lagoon Marine office. Sara was born in Cornwall and then raised and educated in Dorset, often sailing around the Poole coastline with her grandfather. No stranger to the boating world, and a confident mariner, Sara has worked for the Superyacht Industry for more than 15 years, with her extremely impressive career path focused on servicing high-net-worth clients. A loving partner and devoted mother to a 2-year-old girl, Sara’s core values are linked to wellbeing, and in her spare time you are sure to find Sara on the water.

Maarten Meessens
Sales Côte d'AzurMaarten has recently completed his Yacht Master and represents all sales across the French Riviera. As such, Maarten is well placed to assist with all Yachting requirements and can do so in a number of languages including English, French and Dutch. Having met for the first time at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2022, Maarten was instantly a perfect fit for the team, with a very enthusiastic approach as we grow our presence across Europe. Residing just outside Monaco, you’ll find Maarten exploring the Riviera in his JCW Mini or watching the F1 (especially during the Monaco Grand Prix!).

Jamie Wheeler
EngineerJamie has always had a strong connection to the water, getting involved in water sports from an early age. Growing up around boats and owning one young sparked a lifelong passion for the marine world, naturally leading to a career in marine engineering. With years of hands-on experience and a deep understanding of marine systems, Jamie brings expertise and energy to every project. At Blue Lagoon, his technical skills and love for the sea make him a great fit. Outside of work, he enjoys time with family, staying active through sports, and seizing any opportunity to get out on the water, whether for work or leisure.

Kumbia Dzuda
EngineerKumbi is a key part of our workshop team, specialising in GRP work and traditional shipwright craftsmanship. With a hands-on approach and a keen eye for detail, Kumbi plays an important role in ensuring every project is completed to the highest standard. Working across a wide range of repairs, restorations, and custom jobs, Kumbi brings both skill and precision to every task, helping keep our boats in top condition and ready for the water. His practical knowledge and strong work ethic make him a valuable asset to the team. Outside of work, Kumbi is passionate about boxing and enjoys time with his family.
